Safety Week 2018
This year’s focus on safety week is “Courage to Care.” The goal is to help employees develop more of a proactive mindset when it comes to safety, which emphasizes that true caring requires engagement and action. There were sport challenges and a safety scavenger hunt, and there were giveaways and prizes for the teams. There was also a grand prize winner!
Off-Site Meeting - Team Building
Team Leaders and Staff had their annual off-site meeting to promote teambuilding concepts. This year they met in Columbus at “Breakout.” Breakout places people in a life-size minded maze with twist and turns using code breaking skills to “breakout” of a locked room and you’re only given one hour to do it. It allowed us to work as a team, depend on each other, and to work together with other co-workers that we might not normally work with on any given day. As you see, some of us made it, some of us didn’t!
Mystery Mansion – an old mansion left empty for decades is cursed. Where are they now, missing like all the others?
Hostage – handcuffed and held hostage on a plane, were they able to get away?
Museum Heist – were they able to find the stolen artwork?
The Kidnapping – waking up handcuffed and blindfolded, where they able to get away before their kidnapper returned?
Island Escape – Did they escape the island by boat or did the burning volcano and lava do them in?
Operation: Casino – Just like 007, where they able to infiltrate and bring down the syndicate?
Teamwork at it's best!
King's Island 2017
In June our employees went to King's Island courtesy of Domtar. We asked them to share their experiences with us by picture.
These two ladies, Madi and Marly, had a great time while at King's Island. Their dad, Darin, works in Purchasing.
From the looks of things, Dave, one of our employees, was having a good time too! Did we mention he was a Team Leader?
Earth Choice 2017
EarthChoice is a program to diversity, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Domtar's EarthChoice Ambassadors are committed to promote sustainable business practices focusing on our Customers, Employees, Company and Community. This year we adopted a highway cleanup. Our employees volunteered and participated on April 21.
